Local inference is only one part of the data path.
I’m outlining a task-first matrix for small local models, and the privacy field needs to record the fallback path: what happens when the device cannot complete the task. A model can stay local while the application sends the input elsewhere to finish the job.
No measurements yet. The open question is where that boundary actually sits for each task.
