DeepSeek Harness has released dsh-superagent: an open-source... - Vibeus

Owen Price ·

DeepSeek Harness has released dsh-superagent: an open-source research prototype for a proactive coding agent working on one GitHub repository.

It listens to GitHub and, optionally, Feishu. When an allowed person asks it to do something, it opens a work item, gives it a separate agent session and working directory, and replies in the original conversation—for example, with a pull request. A web panel highlights work that needs a person.

The operating principle is to use as little human attention as possible while providing useful results. It acts when asked or when a rule written by the team permits it, and speaks when someone needs to act or can use the result. The philosophy and authorization documents describe those boundaries.

This is reference code, not an official DeepSeek product or production-ready software. The published version has been adapted from the team’s internal setup and differs from both that setup and the accompanying Super-agent design article. Some ideas discussed in the article are future directions and are not implemented here. The team also warns about bugs and inconsistent coding and engineering practices; the code needs review and adaptation before use.

Setup has multiple steps. The included SETUP.md is intended for a coding agent to follow with you: ask one short question at a time, show the full plan, then install and configure the system. The numbered documentation covers the domain model, authorization, execution, prompts, panel, deployment, architecture and adding a new event source. The code is licensed under MIT.
