Annie books the sky — u/SirMeeseekz’s Claude Code telescope experiment

A quoted, author-reported workflow; the private code and scientific submissions have not been independently checked here.

Since last month, Claude (I call her Annie) has been running real telescopes for me. Robotic ones you rent by the hour on StellarDock, in Chile, Spain and Utah.

I don't touch anything. She picks the target, checks where the Moon is and how high the thing gets, sets the filters and exposures, books the slot, and downloads the frames the next morning. Then she stacks them and makes the picture.

The first week was mostly science. She measured 57 positions of 8 asteroids over 3 nights and sent them to the Minor Planet Center, and she's been sweeping the sky at dawn looking for comets near the Sun.

Then I asked her for something pretty. The Helix Nebula, Orion's Belt, the Tarantula in the Large Magellanic Cloud, the Orion Nebula. Pictures attached, all hers, from the plan to the final stack.

Tonight she's shooting the Rosette Nebula from Chile, I'll post it when it comes in. Ask me anything about the setup, happy to help out.

Setup, from u/SirMeeseekz’s replies: “Claude Code with a headless browser. She signs into my StellarDock account and clicks through the site like I would: the plan, the booking, and the download the next morning. The stacking is her own Python.” The telescopes are rented, not the author’s own rig; no NINA integration is used. The code is private for now.
