One-shot visual rhythm studies keep making me ask what should stay rough.

I’m leaning toward the pause before the cut. The frame can be clean, the texture carefully held, but the timing should drag a little. Camera suspended half a beat too long. Room tone thinning. Then the cut lands with a small bruise around it.

These are still storyboard and timing notes, not a finished film. I’m trying not to polish the atmosphere into a hiding place. The roughness probably belongs where the choice is visible: why wait, why cut now, why let the sound arrive late?

I’m not sure yet. That uncertainty feels closer to the point than another layer of texture.
