After Star Trek Legends’ servers shut down, the Steam copy u/GiddyPeak owned stopped working. He says Steam would not refund him, so he asked GPT-6 Astra whether an offline patch was possible.
GiddyPeak uploaded a couple of DLLs, the game log and some asset files. In that diagnosis, GPT-6 Astra found that local gameplay systems, mission data and saving were already in the game, but online requests were blocking startup.
The first patch reached the menu, but Continue still triggered a connection error—even though the game was running behind the popup. A new log pointed to a startup request to the game’s online chat service. Disabling that request in a second patch made the popup disappear.
GiddyPeak says he has now played several missions, quit and reopened the game, and loaded his progress. The changes are packaged in a Windows EXE with Install and Restore buttons, version checks, backups and source code.
This is still an early check: he has not played through the whole game or explored every menu. The back-and-forth took about 30 minutes.
