cool-retro-term is a terminal emulator for Linux and macOS designed to recreate the look and feel of old cathode-ray tube screens. It focuses on a distinctive visual style while remaining reasonably lightweight, making an everyday command-line window feel like a vintage computer display. The emulator supports customizable colors, fonts, and display effects through its context menu. The project uses the QML port of qtermwidget and requires Qt6. To try it, use the latest AppImage on Linux or the DMG on macOS from the Releases page; many Linux distributions also package it. Building instructions are provided in the project wiki.
