CyberChef
Open-source browser workbench for encoding, decoding, hashing, compression and data analysis. Combine operations into reusable recipes and inspect the output as you work.
CyberChef is a web application from GCHQ and contributors for exploring and transforming digital data. Its operations include Base64 and hexadecimal conversion, character encodings, hashes and checksums, compression, date and time conversion, and parsing formats such as IPv6 addresses and X.509 certificates. The current official build displays 506 operations.
Build a recipe by adding operations, enter text or a file, and inspect the output. Auto Bake recalculates results after changes; breakpoints and single-step execution help inspect intermediate stages. Recipes can be saved locally or shared through a link. Links may include both the recipe and input, so use synthetic or public examples when sharing them.
The project states that processing runs in the browser and that recipe configuration and input are not sent to its web server. A downloadable copy can be run locally. For a source build, the current README documents Node.js 24, npm install and npm start; Docker is another documented option. No local installation or network audit was performed for this listing.
The screenshots show two actual checks in the official app: encoding “Hello, Vibeus!” as Base64, then adding a decoding step to recover the original text.
