FreeTube
FreeTube is an open-source desktop YouTube player focused on privacy: it removes ads, limits tracking through cookies and JavaScript, and keeps subscriptions, playlists, and history local.
FreeTube is an open-source desktop YouTube player built with Electron for Windows 10 and later, macOS 12 and later, and Linux. The project is currently in beta. It uses a built-in extractor, with an optional Invidious API, and does not use official YouTube APIs. Subscriptions, playlists, and history are stored locally; no account is required to subscribe to channels. Additional features include ad-free playback, profiles, import and export, themes, SponsorBlock, DeArrow, multiple windows, a mini player, keyboard shortcuts, and browser extensions. To try it, use the official downloads from GitHub Releases or the FreeTube website. The project notes that a VPN or Tor is recommended to hide the IP and that unsupported operating systems may behave unexpectedly.
