Joplin
An offline-first, open-source notes and to-do app with Markdown, search, encrypted sync, plugins, and a browser Web Clipper.
Joplin is a free, open-source note-taking and to-do application for organizing a large number of notes into notebooks. Notes are searchable, can be copied, tagged, and edited in the app or in a text editor, and are stored in Markdown format. The project can import notes exported from Evernote, including formatted content converted to Markdown, resources, and metadata; plain Markdown files can also be imported. Joplin is offline-first, so notes remain available on a phone or computer without an internet connection. Notes can be synchronized with end-to-end encryption through services including Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Joplin Cloud. Full-text search is available across platforms, while plugins and themes allow the application to be customized. The application is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS. The Web Clipper can save web pages and screenshots from Firefox and Chrome. To try Joplin, choose the installer for your platform from the official site; the repository contains the source code, documentation links, and community support channels.
