massCode
A free, open-source developer workspace for snippets, notes, HTTP requests, calculations, drawings, and developer tools in one local-first desktop app.
massCode is a free, open-source developer workspace for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It began as a code-snippet manager and now brings snippets, notes, HTTP requests, calculations, drawings, and small developer utilities into one desktop application. The project is local-first: the README says that user data stays on the machine as plain Markdown files. The snippet workspace supports folders, tags, fragments, syntax grammars, formatting, HTML and CSS preview, a JSON visualizer, and export as images. Notes include Markdown editing, task views, internal links, Mermaid diagrams, a notes graph, tables, callouts, and presentation mode. The HTTP client works with HTTP and GraphQL requests and WebSocket messages, supports collections, environments, assertions, scripts, response history, and imports from OpenAPI, Postman, and Bruno. The app also includes a calculator-style notebook, an Excalidraw-based drawing space, a command palette, imports from VS Code, Raycast, SnippetsLab, GitHub Gists, and Obsidian, plus a browser clipper and local integration API. The Markdown vault can be tracked or synchronized with ordinary Git or other file-sync tools, so the files remain readable and portable. To try it, use the official releases and documentation. The repository is licensed under AGPL-3.0; hardware support, integrations, and third-party service terms should be checked in the current documentation.
